The food is good for what it is and the prices are relatively cheap. But most importantly this is a place with history and that makes it a must visit if you're in the area.

I have found my new favorite Mexican spot! If you like authentic and fresh this is the spot! Right next to the San Mateo train station. I had a freshly made burrito from a very friendly staff. Ambience leans take out but I had a wonderful lunch sitting outside. Highly recommend

I’ve been coming to the BEST BURRITO in the SF Bay Atea for over 20 years now. The BBQ Chicken Super Burritos are my all time favorite. The Duran Family is said to have invented the “Mission Style Burrito” at their San Francisco location and the tradition of fantastic food in more than ample portions carries on into the next century. If you aren’t in the mood for a huge burrito the tacos and plates are delicious too!

Ed and his crew always do a great job, I don’t eat burritos anywhere else honestly. Chicken fajita burrito is the best. Never had a bad meal here.

Wonderful Mexican food place in downtown San Mateo. Located next to the train station, it has a wide variety of burritos, tacos, salads, and other Mexican dishes to choose from. Delicious spicy sauce if you like spicy (green one). Plenty of parking in their own lot, on the street, or in the train station parking lot next door. Not a lot of seats for dining in, but perfect place for take out.

Been coming here ever since I was a kid and have always loved it! Even in college I look forward to coming back to have La Cumbre. Their burritos are always amazing and they have great service; it’s super fast and efficient. We usually order takeout because there aren’t that many spots to sit inside but their outdoor seating is cute!

This is my favorite place to get a burrito in the world. If you order the Deluxe Burrito, any meat, with refried beans and mild salsa it will be a 10/10 every time. I have been eating it for 15 years. I have moved to Boise Idaho and just came home to visit and bought 4 extra burritos to share with a few people and also have one for later. There are no burritos that compare here in Idaho and I wish they would open a branch here. I love Taqueria La Cumbre San Mateo.
